Vaccines: TAKING A SHOT
by Dr. Regan Golob

This month I had an experience with vaccinations. A little one-year old girl had a severe reaction to her DPT, (Diphtheria, Pertussa, Tetanus) vaccine. In reaction to this situation, I was prompted to do some research on vaccinations.

One interesting article titled, "A Pharmacist Questions Vaccines " appeared in the December 1994 issue of The American Chiropractor. Some alarming statistics were listed in this article. For example, within a thirty-nine month period ending in November of 1993, the F. D. A. Vaccine Adverse Reporting System collected nearly 32,000 reports of adverse reactions following vaccination, with more than 700 deaths. DPT vaccine was associated with more than 12,000 of these reports, including 471 of the related deaths. "The F. D. A. acknowledges that this voluntary reporting underestimates the actual number of reactions." The National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act (NCVIA) was passed in 1986, establishing the Vaccine Injury Compensation Program (VICP). As of July 5, 1994, the program has paid $452.5 million for vaccine injury or death, and is back-logged with more than 2,600 claim cases--all of which will not be settled for several years.

This information doesn't give me much faith in the medical profession's preventative care program. I am not writing this as a for or against position -- just advising that one should make an educated decision on vaccines, whether for children or for animals.
Suggested practices for before and after a vaccination:

Take the temperature of the child or animal to be vaccinated--if abnormal in any way, (elevated or below normal) do not vaccinate.

Use common sense, trust your eye--if a child or animal is not in good health, don't stress them with a vaccination.

Apply Dynamite® MIRACLE CLAY™ on the vaccination site, even if it s not swollen. Also increase the Dynamite® ESTER C™ and Dynamite® DYNA-PRO™ for a couple of days before and after a vaccination.

Vaccines are stressful, so do not introduce any other stressing actions the same day of the vaccination. I.E. don't worm an animal, don't tranquilize, don't ship, don't ride, etc. Other precautions would include not using multivalent vaccines such as a 4-way type.

Educate yourself about vaccinations--your pharmacist doctor, or veterinarian can give you information regarding the risks of a vaccine. Don't do something out of fear or because everybody else does it.

Applied Kinesiology
(a.k.a. "Muscle Testing")
By Dr. Regan Golob, DC

"Amazing!"

"I can't believe this, but it works!"

I have often heard these and similar comments over the years from people first introduced to muscle testing.

Kinesiology has been around since the ancient Egyptians, and is derived from ancient Chinese systems of acupuncture and the energy flow of the body through the ductwork of the meridian systems. In Western medicine, applied kinesiology has been adapted and developed by an osteopathic physician, Dr. Frank Chapman, and several chiropractors, Drs. Terrence Bennet, George Goodheart, and John Thie. Kinesiology is based on the discovery that muscle weakness can be caused by any stress in the body, either chemical, physical or emotional. The stress overrides the body's priority and allows the testing muscle to weaken. Dr. M. L. Rees tells a World War II story of being out drinking with his buddies. They got into a brawl and were arrested and jailed by the MP's. The next morning, they were found to be guilty or innocent by muscle testing. Dr. Rees added that they were accurate -- the emotional stress caused by telling a lie weakens the neurological system.

When performing a muscle test, be sure the person being tested holds their arm straight out from the shoulder with the elbow locked in and the hand open.
This is so the person does not bring in more than one muscle group. This test is really not a muscle strength test but one of neurological function. So you are looking for how fast they respond to the command of "Hold" at the same time you push down behind the wrist with a steady, gentle pressure. What you are looking for is an immediate strong lock-in for a positive response. If this test is negative, the person's arm will give to the pressure.

One can use this to find anything from a sore joint to a nutritional imbalance. So once you find the area of weakness, you start looking for what will make that area test or lock-in strong. How does it work to just hold the product in the person's other hand against their stomach? The body senses the magnetic field of the product (yes, even through the bottle) and that will change the energy within the body. Remember, the challenge is to be creative without being judgmental. The more you get your conscious mind in the way, the less accurate your tests will be. Most of the time I just pick up a product to test without even looking at it, so I can stay completely out of it.

There is much more to applied kinesiology. If you have further interest I recommend the book, "Touch For Health" by Dr. John Thie . Muscle testing can be a valuable tool to enhance your health and knowledge of your body's needs, including supplement choice

Natural Health is our Future!

Many people today are tired of this world full of pharmaceutical drugs and their plethora of side effects. There's a drug for everything these days, and a drug for all the side effects too! It can become a vicious circle of orthodox medicine making us sicker and preventing the body from doing what it's meant to do...look after itself, healing from the inside out utilizing it's built in immune system.

All our bodies need is healthy food, exercise and a positive attitude to give it the strength to heal itself. Because our bodies are living on several planes of existence simultaneously we need to find a balance where all of our bodies are receiving their needs equally. Once balance is achieved, health and happiness can't help but manifest!

Physical, Mental, Emotional Spiritual

Natural Health for the 4 Bodies

Physical Body:

Our physical body needs nourishment in the form of healthy food, natural or organic wherever possible. Plenty of clean, plain, fresh water as we are mostly made of water so replenish often!

We need to stay clean, washing our hands and bodies regularly, using products that are natural and non-toxic. Have you looked at what's in your shampoo or lotion lately?

We should be maintaining a clean home environment free of smoke, dust, moulds and chemical emissions from paint, fabrics & household cleaners. Our household products need to be non-toxic to humans and animals, seems like common sense, right? Many used commonly today are not. This is very important and highly overlooked when someone becomes ill! In order for our physical body to have a naturally strong immunity it cannot be bombarded with toxins, impurities, chemicals, etc.

The physical body also needs to be loved and cared for to remain healthy. Bodies that are subject to abuse and hate tend to be unhealthy bodies.

Mental Body:

Our mental body is our reasoning, subjective body. Deducing situations for personal relevance. Deciding on things and making calculations.

This is a body that depends on the others for support. To function optimally, the mental body requires that the physical, emotional and spiritual bodies be balanced. The mental body will make decisions based on the balance of the others.

The mental body's ability to absorb and assimilate new information is greatly affected by both the physical and emotional bodies well being as well. It can be seen as a mirror to these other parts of the body, and if it is out of balance, than most definitely there are deeper physical and emotional issues to look at.

Emotional Body:

Our emotional body is the neediest body of all. Many people live entirely within their emotional body and this body controls all the others. This is a state of imbalance, as the emotional body is selfish, subjective and egotistical.

When emotions are governing existence, there can be no balancing the whole body as all others suffer the consequences of the unbalanced thoughts and actions. Once emotions are under control and stabilized, then all bodies can be balanced and functioning properly. Emotions can be very powerful, therefore need to be under control.

Spiritual Body:

Much like our mental body, the spiritual body has the capability to deduce situations and to decide and calculate, then to give instruction to the other bodies on how to proceed. The difference is that the spiritual body is our objective body. Meaning it chooses and sees the most optimum direction for total well being to balance the needs of the entire or whole body. It does not take into consideration any possibility of harm to the system, and will not steer the whole body in the wrong direction.

This body, if governing the whole, only takes what control it needs to gain perfect balance. The problem is, that if any other bodies are governing, the spiritual body isn't! It will not interfere with the free will of the others, even though it knows best. The other bodies must be balanced and operating optimally to allow the spiritual body to do it's job of being our objective protector and guide!

Working with what the body is capable of inherently is what natural health is all about! It's simple, scientific and proper to use nature's gifts for health and healing. It doesn't make sense to consider ourselves separate from nature, and to forget that this is where we come from!

Get natural, get balanced, get healthy!

The Power of Thoughts PDF Print E-mail

The Power of Thoughts
by Dr. Regan Golob

I believe that there are three main factors that affect health. I call them the three "T’s." They are trauma, toxicity and thoughts (beliefs). In this issue we will discuss the effect of thoughts on health.

My first premise is that without our conscious effort, our body knows exactly how to maintain health. It has an innate intelligence that can create a baby from a single cell, mend a broken bone and keep innumerable biological processes going all the time. To do this, our bodies do need appropriate nourishment; and as we are beginning to learn, that does not come from food alone. Babies who are given an adequate diet, but who are not touched and held, can suffer what is called "failure to thrive" and die.

How, then, do our thoughts play a role in our health? Because our thoughts can nourish or harm us. What we think or believe can actually affect the biochemical makeup of our bodies and affect our immune systems. Negative thoughts and fears can change a healthy alkaline blood system into an acid one. Negative thoughts stem from our beliefs about ourselves.

Underneath these thoughts lie fears, repressed feelings, and issues we haven't dealt with. These take a constant toll on our health. The roots of our fears and beliefs about ourselves are buried in our subconscious minds. They were responses we made, as children, to situations we did not understand. At the time, these responses helped us survive. If we did not have the help or skill to deal with those issues, they became lodged in our subconscious. Our self-talk (the things we say to ourselves) can be a clue to surfacing hidden beliefs about ourselves.

Becoming aware of self-talk, or negative effects of our behavior, is the first step to changing our beliefs about ourselves. Many of us have internalized the voice of a
critical parent, and we use it to judge ourselves. We may also suffer so much from fear that we are afraid to risk the very things that might free us from our fear. Many people work in jobs they hate or live with unsuitable partners because they are afraid to leave -- because change, too, is scary.

We are luckier than many of our parents because support for risking, dealing with our fears and changing is much more available than in their day; and there is more focus in our society today on the importance of growth and positive change.

Awareness is our first step on the path of change. Forgiveness is the next. By forgiveness, I mean, letting go. What we are learning about forgiveness is that when we hold on to a wrong we are tied to it. To be released, we must forgive our self (let go) for any harm we may have caused our self; forgive all others for any harm they may have caused us; and allow others to forgive us for any harm we may have caused them. Learning to change unhelpful patterns is tough work. It is important to seek the support of friends, family, a therapist or other community resources. Most of all, we need to be gentle with ourselves and know we're doing our best.

An alkaline diet consisting of 75% fruits and vegetables helps maintain positive thought processes. People who are acid and who eat a lot of meat are usually more angry and aggressive. Lots of bread and sugars can contribute to candidiasis, which is characterized by depression and lethargy. Taking chelated minerals found in Dynamite® products can insure that our bodies and brains are functioning at their full electromagnetic potential. When we are healthy, we can choose our responses and our perspectives in any situation. There are no victims, only volunteers!

"Thoughts are things, use them wisely."

BODY pH---Your Potential Health
by Dr. Regan Golob

If you remember back to your high school chemistry, you know that "pH" stands for "potential of hydrogen". The scale of pH ranges from 0.00 which is completely acid to 14.00 which is completely alkaline. Distilled water which is neutral, has a pH of 7.0. If you addhttp://www.moonshinesol.com/Journals.jpg alkalizing minerals such as sodium, calcium or potassium to an acid solution, those minerals buffer the acid. Or, you can make an alkaline solution more acid by adding acid-producing substances.

With the exception of stomach fluids which should be very acid (around 2.0), all of your body fluids need to be either slightly alkaline or slightly acid, either slightly above or slightly below 7.00. For example, the blood needs to stay at a pH of 7.35 to 7.45, and a slight deviation either way means death. In practical terms, this means that if you are not taking in enough available calcium, the body will rob calcium from the bones to buffer the blood and keep it from becoming too acid. Obviously, the body places a higher priority on keeping your heart beating than on keeping your bones strong. So by eating a highly acid diet (meats, grains, dairy, coffee, pop, etc.) you are setting yourself up for arthritis and osteoporosis.

Alkalizing minerals come from fresh fruits and vegetables, and from chelated (bioavailable) minerals in supplements like Dynamite® PLUS™, Dynamite® TRIMINS™, Dynamite® IZMINE™ and Dynamite® HERBAL GREEN™, as well as Dynamite® CELL MEND™. Cucumbers, celery and zucchini are great sources of organic sodium, and broccoli contains lots of calcium. Even the "acid" fruits like oranges and lemons leave an alkaline ash residue in the body, and contribute to the alkaline reserve of the body. You should eat vegetables every day, and if you are currently following the "standard" American diet of burgers, fries, pasta, chicken etc., you should start getting healthier by adding one piece of fruit and one serving of vegetables a day. Aim for the ideal of 75% fruits and veggies in your daily diet. Don't try for "instant health" by switching abruptly to salads and veggies -- I guarantee you won't like the results. Interestingly, even the stomach needs to be bathed in an alkaline medium to operate properly. If you ever have heartburn or indigestion, it means you have too little stomach acid, not too much. Take a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar or Dynamite® ELIXIR™, and you will feel better quickly. Symptoms of improper digestion of food caused by insufficient stomach acid include diarrhea, constipation, food allergies, depression, etc.

You can determine the pH of your body by testing your morning saliva or urine. If you are truly healthy, both saliva and urine should test about 7.0 first thing in the morning after at least five hours of sleep. Even if you currently feel good, if your morning urine is as low as 5.0, or as high as 8.0, you need to seriously address your diet because your body has gone into emergency mode with adaptations that eventually lead to serious disease like osteoporosis, emphysema or even cancer. You can order testing paper from Morter Health Systems at 1-800-874-1478. Better yet, order Dr. Morter's book "Your Health Your Choice" from Dynamite®.

Your health really is your choice, and pH testing is a valuable tool to guide you to wellness.
